Fabio A. Jung, MD
More than 20 years of investment-banking and strategic-advisory experience combined with oncology research training
About Fabio
Dr. Fabio Jung offers PHP Biotech’s Advisory Board a rare dual perspective: rigorous medical and oncology-research training combined with more than 20 years of senior investment-banking and strategic-advisory experience. This intersection of science and finance is precisely what a platform biotech needs as it navigates capital formation, partnering and strategic alternatives, and valuation.
Dr. Jung completed his medical training at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and a residency in General Surgery at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre, before pursuing an MBA at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He then moved into investment banking, holding managing director and partner-level roles at leading institutions including Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Bank of America, and Investment One Partners. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
Because he can read both a clinical data package and a financial model, Dr. Jung is well positioned to advise PHP Biotech on how to frame its scientific milestones for investors, structure partnerships, and evaluate strategic options for the PHP53-nb program and the GEN01-AD platform. His MD Anderson research background means he understands the oncology development pathway from the inside, while his banking and consulting career gives him fluency in the capital markets and deal structures that determine whether promising science reaches patients.
