About Robert
Robert Gahagen leads PHP Biotech as Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than three decades of senior operating experience across large multinational organizations. His career has been built in global entity startups, supply chain operations, vendor management, and business development — the disciplines that help translate a promising scientific asset into a fundable, executable, and ultimately successful therapeutic program.
Based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, where PHP Biotech is headquartered (550 Reserve St., Ste. 190, Southlake, TX 76092), Gahagen has held regional P&L responsibility over entities at global logistics companies, including Menlo Worldwide, Celadon, and Kuehne + Nagel. Major key accounts included Wal Mart, General Motors, IBM, Cisco, and AbbVie. That background is relevant to a clinical-stage biotech startup: moving a biologic from discovery through preclinical work and into Phase I requires rigorous coordination of contract research organizations (CROs), contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs), cold-chain logistics, and international regulatory timelines. Gahagen’s operating experience across complex, multi-country supply networks positions him to manage this orchestration.
He earned his BS degree from Kansas State University and his International MBA at the University of South Carolina (Columbia). Throughout his career he has repeatedly been responsible for large-scale operational transformation, cost optimization, and cross-border program management — capabilities that map onto the demands of scaling a nanobody platform (PHP53-nb and the GEN01-AD delivery platform) toward the clinic.
As CEO, Gahagen’s mandate is to align PHP Biotech’s scientific, clinical, financial, and operational functions behind a single objective: advancing a first-in-class, p53-reactivating nanobody toward patients with the most aggressive and underserved cancers. He works closely with the company’s scientific leadership, executive committee, and advisory board to keep development milestones, partnerships, and capital strategy synchronized.
